I have spent the entire weekend mulling it over and I found that while many of the blogs I follow are sweet, they are all more than just that. So, I have picked ones that fit this category to my way of thinking.
As I mentioned in the acceptance of the award blog I would need more time to list the otheer blogs to pass on this award to. Actually I lie - I didn't need that much time but you see I mis read Kat's blog and thought it said 15 until a few minutes ago. And hence with a HUGE sigh of relief I begin my list of only 5... but truly almost every blog I come across offers me something to enjoy, mull over, analyse, laugh at and sometimes even cry over. And they all represent the variety of interests I have.
So, here goes:
1. Kelly from http://www.genepooldiva.com/ is both sweet and funny and there is always a subtle subtext in her posts that I have fun dissecting in my head. So many of her childhood memories I can match in my own. So many times I have snorted a laugh into my coffee cup. Kelly has lots of followers and admirers and gets lots of awards. One more won't likely matter to her. But if you are not following her you are missing out.
2. Kim from http://hopefulwriter-kk.blogspot.com.au/ is mostly poignant, sometimes heartwrenching, always thoughtful. She has become a dear friend from over a chasm of years and distance. Her philosophical acceptance of all that life throws at her humbles me daily. Her humanity, vulnerability and sweetness will move you. Check her out. Oh and not to forget her craftiness....very talented lady.
3. Becci from http://beccibird.blogspot.com.au/ is just an awesone young mum whose stories take me back to my own days as a young mum, with all the struggles, fun and love of raising kids and living life. Her sometimes tentative steps into blogging give me courage that I can do it too. She is just charming.
4. Lucy from http://www.diminishinglucy.com/ is the first blog I ever followed when I decided to explore the blogoverse/blogosphere. I found her because she was trending, so I clicked on the link and I was instantly hooked by her honesty and her thoughtfulness for all. Not to mention the amazing life journey she has been on - as I discovered by trawling back through her older posts. She is real and sometimes she is raw and I love it.
Ok so I am up to 4 and I realise they are all women. I hate that I am cherry picking here but I guess anyone truly interested in who I follow can look it up in my profile and go explore.
Suffice to say I follow blogs that are political, creative (so much fun to follow the likes of http://betterafter.blogspot.com.au/), specialised (like http://blog.backbulb.com/), literary or generally just fun and in some cases, hilarious.
So, I must needs have a 5th and so I chose.....
5. Al (not his real name) from http://alpenwasser.blogspot.com.au/. Al will be wondering why I would class his blog as sweet. He is irreverent, funny, caustic, critical, astute, knowledgeable, hilarious, rude, self-deprecating, humble, smart, wicked and generous. Sometimes all at once. Every post needs a couple of reads to appreciate all the richness of the content. So why sweet? Because he is, even though I have never met him, it comes out through his writing - despite his best efforts to portray himself as a rollicking smartarse (a very aussie expression - note the extra 'r' and say arrrrrrrse). If you need a laugh Al's your man.
Well that's my 5. Ok I cheated a little and told you where to find more and even listed a couple of extras in brackets, as if that was camouflage.
Like my pomegranate plant there are sooooo many to pick from.
Love and hugs to all - and thank you KAT.
Thank you so much, can't remember the last time I got an award. And as for being called sweet! That just doesn't happen. And though I haven't always replied to your comments on my blog, your name is as familiar to me as an old friend, which you are! I now vow to pass on the bloggy love and uphold my obligations.
ReplyDeleteBecci you deserve it - if only for watching Adam Hills LOL... My daughter works on that show as his online producer. But I mean it - you really do rate as one of the sweetest blogs that I read. I just feel you when you write, and isn't that what we aspiring writers aspire to?
DeleteTake care and enjoy.
Thanks very, very much, Marlia!!! I'm so happy we got to "meet" here on blogger. My world has gotten smaller and bigger at the same time.
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, you forgot to add "flatulent."
LOL - No I didn't forget.
DeleteNext time send Bailey's :)
ReplyDeleteWith Pleasure - regular, mint or hazelnut?
DeleteLove and hugs right back at ya, Marlia! And by the way, please stop by my blog and pick up just one more award I left for you. Before you throw something at me I promise with this one you don't have to do anything but enjoy it! :D)
ReplyDeletewow - this is a really nice one. Thank you
DeleteIt is so long since I have had a chance to really trawl via my PC. Thank you SO much for this, and your kind words make me tear up.
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet girl.
xx
Ok well anyone who calls me a 'girl' gets 100 awards!! And maybe a pair of new glasses...hehehe
DeleteAnd, in fact, Ms Lucy, some of your posts leave me lost for words and choked up because you are such a good writer you make me feel what you feel.
